This challenging new exhibition, a result of an inspired partnership between the RCP and SHAPE, explores a group of rare portraits of disabled people from the 17th to the19th centuries; uncovers the extraordinary hidden histories behind the portraits; and looks at their impact today, through contemporary responses from 27 disabled participants from across the UK.
