The vision for Ability Media

It is all about talent ...

Ability Media is an initiative designed to help talent emerge and over time achieve greater representation of disabled people working in the media and creative industries. We have created a fantastic accessible and inclusive studio and education complex in Southwark, London. Our investment in the infrastructure needed to deliver media training to the highest standards has created a space where talented and aspiring scriptwriters, filmmakers and presenters can come and hone their skills or simply use the production facilities to get their ideas for film and documentaries made. Our first graduates are already starting to gain recognition in film festivals for their work.

We intend to develop and expand Ability Media across the UK. We have also created Ability Media TV and radio channels at www.abilitymedia.org which is a dedicated platform where the intellectual, artistic and creative content comes first as opposed to the fact that someone may have a disability or the programme content is around disability.

The Ability Media International Awards and our winners are inspirational and make a unique contribution to raising aspirations and standards.
